The Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero Evolution MPR11 was debuted by the Mitsubishi Motors Repsol ATS Studios Team ahead of the 2005 Dakar Rally. The five-car team consisted of four MPR11s, alongside one L200 Pick-Up. Despite engine troubles, drivers Stéphane Peterhansel and Luc Alphand finished first and second in the event, claiming Mitsubishi's 5th consecutive (and 10th overall) Dakar Rally victory.

An evolution of the MPR10 (built to the 2002 Super Production car regulations), the MPR11 used a 4.0-litre V6 engine, positioned 100 mm lower and 300 mm further back in the chassis to improve weight distribution. Maximum torque was increased by 19%, and the wheelbase was lengthened.[1][2]

Colin McRae: DiRT[]

“Mitsubishi are one of the most reliable names on the circuit with their top pedigree and consistent form. The Montero isn't as fast as the Volkswagen, but it's stronger and better to drive overall. Built like a tank, but designed for speed.”
Travis Pastrana, Colin McRae DiRT

The Mitsubishi Montero EVO MPR11 is a Rally Raid T1 vehicle in Colin McRae DiRT.
